Waterbury Hospital Auxiliary Inc. is hosting artist Chace Bogues, a fifth grader art protégé from Rotella Magnet School.

Though Chace is only 10 years old he shows great promise as an artist. His art focuses on sketching, largely landscapes, some of which come from his imagination.

Chace has already earned two awards at school and his work has seen great success. Chace’s exhibit in the Waterbury Hospital Auxiliary Art Gallery included 30 paintings, 14 of which sold within the first few weeks. Chace’s artwork will be on display until the end of April.

Chace started painting when he was 3 years old and spends most of his time drawing with led and colored pencils or painting with acrylic paint. Chace said he paints and draws every day. Creating is something that brings him joy. He can challenge himself to paint something from his imagination with his eyes closed.

Chace lives in Waterbury with his parents, older sister Sydney and younger brother Jaxson, two pets, a Flemish Giant rabbit and breaded dragon.
