Family Birthing Center

Deciding where to deliver your baby is one of the first – and most important – choices you’ll make regarding your child’s health. At Waterbury Hospital’s Family Birthing Center, we are committed to working with you to create a safe and meaningful birth experience.

We deliver over 1,100 babies every year, and our providers understand that every birth is unique. Our multidisciplinary team provides medical expertise, state-of-the-art technology, and compassionate care to all the mothers and babies who come through our doors. From prenatal monitoring and childbirth to neonatal care and women’s health, we guide families through the entire process.

Waterbury Hospital’s Family Birthing Center includes a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) for newborn babies who need special care. We are proud to have a Level III NICU staffed by providers from Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital. We also offer extensive lactation support, including the only donor human milk program in the region, and a laborist available on-site 24 hours a day.
